Since 1991, August 1st to August 7th is World Breastfeeding Week. In 2011, the United States Breastfeeding Commitee deemed the month of August National Breastfeeding Awareness Month.
This month, I intend to share important information about breastfeeding including:
statistical evidence on rate of women breastfeeding,
complications associated with breastfeeding and how to approach them*,
breastfeeding tips* and advice from educators and mothers,
herbal remedies and nutrition information to support healthy milk supply*.
*My advice should never replace that of a healthcare professional such as a midwife, nurse practitioner, or doctor. Always seek medical advice before adopting any new nutrition, supplement, or exercise regimen.
This first post, however, is dedicated to beautiful breastfeeding art I have come across online. For now, scroll and enjoy these wonderful pieces of creation I have compiled and revel in the wonder that the female body is.
